I have a question for those “tea party” protesters: Where were your signs and demonstrations when George W. Bush, fully supported by congressional Republicans, took the $5.7 trillion national debt he inherited from President Bill Clinton and ran it up to the more than $11 trillion it is today?
The trillion or so that President Barack Obama is spending is being used to invest in our schools and law enforcement, improve our health care system and repair the infrastructure that the Republicans left in disrepair.
President Obama inherited a fixer-upper White House, with the economy tanking and many people out of work. His spending plans are designed to get these people working again, while making improvements in government services across the board. Rather then protesting these bold moves, you should be shouting the praises of President Obama.
