I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: This state needs a lottery.
It would solve part of our education needs and employ thousands of unemployed workers to run lottery machines. I know because I come from New York and owned a stationery store and had a lottery machine, which paid me 6 cents on the dollar that it produced; as a matter of fact, there were five such machines in a five-block area.
I had to employ two additional people to work the machines. Get the picture?
If the casinos don’t like this picture, let them pay for our educational shortfalls. They can’t have it all.
