The Las Vegas Sun’s Jan. 29 editorial, “Leading the way,’’ which discussed the front page story in USA Today about an Army general’s drug dependency, deserves great praise.
The editorial, USA Today and especially Lt. Gen. David Fridovich have my heartfelt thanks for illuminating a problem that has plagued military men and women for years.
Gen. Fridovich — in coming forward to discuss his dependency problem on high-potency pain killers for injuries received on military duties in an effort to assist both himself and others — shows guts, leadership and respect for his fellow “brothers-in-arms.” Congratulations and salutes are in order for Gen. Fridovich.
May God bless him and the troops he is attempting to help.
