LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Texting while driving another dangerous habit

Kim White, in her Wednesday letter to the editor, headlined “Cell phones aren’t only distractions when driving,” wrote the following:

“At a busy intersection, another driver was struggling to make a left turn while a cute little dog on her lap was squirming and trying to climb up over her left shoulder into the back seat. At one point neither hand was on the wheel and I would assume neither eye was on the road, yet her car was moving!”

I can top Ms. White’s story. Recently I was stopped at a traffic light when a car pulled alongside me to make a right turn.

The woman driving was holding a dog on her lap with her left arm and in her right hand she was texting. She was making the turn using her left hand.

I was dumbfounded to think that a grown person could be so ignorant.
