In an interview in 2010, Mitch McConnell stated his No. 1 goal was to make Barack Obama a one-term president. The Republicans tried their best by obstructing nearly every idea he presented. Even though the plan did not work, the GOP has not given up. No president in history has been a victim of opposite-party obstructionism more than Obama. Attempting to repeal the Affordable Care Act dozens of times is a prime example. Far worse is the GOP’s lack of agreement with Obama on foreign issues. This is an area where there has always been bipartisan support.
What’s even more frustrating to the GOP is their inability to connect any scandal directly to him. You can imagine how hard they have tried.
The frustration has led them to the absurd, suing the president over his executive orders.
The GOP witch hunt is relentless, but just like their attempt to make him a one-term president, it is failing.
