In his letter “The magic tricks of the universe,” David Baker says of the Big Bang, “Scientific reasoning dictates that consciousness was there at that moment.”
No, wishful thinking does.
This shows one of the major problems in the public understanding of science and many political issues, namely that much of the world is “non-intuitive.”
On the human scale we live in, in the world we have evolved to deal with, everything does come out of something, but on the subatomic, quantum level, that is not true.
