letter to the editor:

We the people must fire Congress

Members of Congress should be fired for the crime of dereliction of duty to the citizens.

The number of days worked by taxpayers vary — 213 to 263 days per year for most people, and some work additional jobs to make ends meet.

I worked in construction. No work meant no pay, and that included holiday and vacation.

Congress is in session for fewer than 150 days, and not much work gets done.

They claim this is the greatest country in the world. If I were a politician, so would I. Our schoolchildren are in session more than Congress.

When Congress is in session, they act like petulant children or worse, displaying theatrical moments. It’s a real live soap opera.

They are the biggest entitlement in government that doesn’t produce. If we the people worked like that, we would be fired.

We employ them — let us fire them. We would cut moral and internal corruption by at least one-third.

What will replace them? A voting mechanism that can work 24/7, 365 days a year. It would be a lot cheaper, too.

We the people in every state shall insist on a means to vote. Fire Congress: yes/no?
