What can the GOP run on in 2016? George W. Bush inherited a thriving economy, low unemployment and no wars. At the end of the Bush presidency, our country was in one colossal mess. We had an economy in a death spiral and unemployment over 10 percent, and were heavily involved in two wars.
In President Barack Obama’s first six years in office, the inherited mess is well on its way to being cleaned up. The economy is growing stronger, 401(k)s are getting back to where they once were and the Dow Jones is up nearly 11,000 points. Unemployment is at 5.7 percent with millions of jobs added, we are basically out of the two wars and Osama bin Laden is toasting in hell.
In spite of historic obstructionism by the GOP, they have to admit we are much better off than six years ago. So, what do they run on other than having voted 56 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act?
