letter to the editor:

Did Bush invade the wrong country?

On Jan. 29, 2002, President George W. Bush, in his State of the Union address, used the term “axis of evil” to describe Iran, Iraq and North Korea. Bush went on to say that these three countries were trying to build nuclear weapons. In 2003, Bush launched the invasion of Iraq, searching for weapons of mass destruction (WMDs); none were ever found. The Iraq war went on to be one of the worst military decisions in the history of our country, and even today the Iraq war rages on.

We know North Korea has nuclear weapons and threatens the U.S. and South Korea with missile strikes almost daily. Yet, we never considered invading North Korea.

Iran has been trying to build nuclear weapons for quite some time now and has threatened to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. The Iranians have also, on many occasions, called for the death of America. Bush has known this since he became president in 2001, yet he chose to invade Iraq, which never threatened the U.S. with a missile strike and had no WMDs. Is it possible that Bush may have invaded the wrong country?
