letters to the editor:

Jeb Bush can’t keep promise about economic growth

The presidential candidates of both parties promise economic growth. No nation can provide an ever-increasing number of jobs for an ever-increasing population that’s expected to grow from 7.3 billion to more than 11.2 billion by 2100. It is physically impossible.

Jeb Bush stated that if he were elected president, he would increase the nation’s economic growth rate to 4 percent per year. If that growth rate continued until 2103, when many babies born today will still be alive, the nation’s economy would be 32 times as large as the current economy, and that cannot happen.

The voters, and all people on the planet, must understand that economic growth will cease in the near future, and no action taken by humanity can change that.
