Light rail good for valley’s future

Regarding the editorial “Commission owes it to residents and visitors to consider light rail” (Las Vegas Sun, June 5):

I agree with your position to review light rail as an alternative form of improved transit to and from the airport and the Strip.

An additional consideration is that the expense of light rail is approximately the same as an elevated expressway, but light rail service will be available throughout the valley, a consideration for our valley’s future. This past year has seen great interest in establishing an automobile plant (Faraday Future), a supersonic transportation system (Hyprloop) and the support services that come along with such development. Now is the time to develop the groundwork for tomorrow’s mass transit needs.
