Letter to the editor:

Trump presidency would destroy U.S.

What if Donald Trump actually became president? We couldn’t stop him from taking airtime to tell us how great and rich he is. There is no container big enough to hold Trump’s ego. He has not told us anything of any substance he will do. Everything is delivered in Trump language, which is unique but completely incomprehensible. The people who go to his appearances could not, at the end, tell you what Trump is going to do. But they will cheer at the end of every statement. They say he’s telling it like it is. What is “it” and what is “is”? Trump’s audience doesn’t know either.

Can you picture Trump speaking at a United Nations conference? Almost everyone would wear a headset for translation to their own language. Trump’s language is not translatable to any other language; I have trouble translating what he says into English. It would be a total humiliation for the U.S. Many world leaders would probably get up and leave because they’d think he’s insulting them. Then there’s the State of the Union Address. He wouldn’t be speaking as a Republican; he doesn’t care about the party, only about himself. He couldn’t lead Congress to agreements unless they are agreements he has put forward. He doesn’t listen to others; he’s always talking. He believes what he is saying is important and whatever someone else is saying is not. They must be weak and a loser.

We as a country cannot afford to let Trump be in charge. He would be a disaster for our country, and our only recourse would be impeachment. He may insult a foreign leader beyond repair and we’d be talking war. Don’t let that happen!
