My wife and I have concealed carry permits and more guns in our gun safes than 99 percent of Americans.
In his speech to the National Rifle Association, President Donald Trump referred to “the sacred rights given to us by God, including the right to self- defense.” As someone who has studied the Bible, I cannot find such a God-given right in it. Even if there were such a right, it would not include the right to assault weapons and bump stocks.
The saddest part is that the members of the NRA applauded him. By not agreeing to reasonable control of weapons, the members of the NRA show their disregard for the American people and that they do not care about the lives of schoolchildren.
