Participants in the 2019 Sun Youth Forum will offer their perspective on the annual event during a segment of this evening’s edition of the Vegas PBS program “Inside Education.”
The students being featured on the program were among more than 1,000 teens from 52 Las Vegas-area high schools who took part in the forum, which brings together students from across Southern Nevada to discuss a wide array of local, state, national and global issues. This year’s topics included gun safety, immigration, the Ukraine scandal, abortion, cyberbullying and many more.
The forum was launched in 1956 by Las Vegas Sun founder Hank Greenspun to foster dialogue among students on topical issues and to give adults a window into the viewpoints of young people in the community. Every year, student representatives are selected to share their views from the forum via local media.
Last year’s event was Nov. 13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
