Letter to the Editor:

Con man will keep escalating

Donald Trump proved himself to be a con artist by suggesting that COVID-19 could be treated with disinfectants like Clorox and Lysol, or with the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine, which he then went into the business to sell.

He also proved himself to be a con man by calling himself a rock-solid pro-life champion of evangelical ideas.

He bragged that he stacked the Supreme Court, which resulted in the Dobbs case that overturned Roe v. Wade, eliminating the constitutional right to an abortion. Trump even went so far as to say that women should be punished for having an abortion.

A con artist is a person who cheats or tricks others by persuading them to believe something that is not true. A rock-solid pro-life champion of evangelical ideas is not a thrice-married man, twice divorced, adjudicated of being a sexual abuser who will soon go to trial involving his adulterous affair with a porn star.

In Trump’s latest con, he teamed up with singer Lee Greenwood to sell “God Bless America” Bibles at $59.99 each, 2 Timothy 3:10-17 of which reads “Unscrupulous con men will continue to exploit the faith. ... As long as they are out there, things can only get worse.”
