LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Small businesses being empowered

Las Vegas’ economic future looks bright thanks to deep investments included in the Investing in America Agenda, and it’s clear that small businesses will play a pivotal role.

I’ve benefited from the power of these policies that help bolster our state’s economy, which is already one of the fastest growing in the country, and address one of the most pressing issues of our time: the climate crisis.

My small business, Allegiant Electric, recently installed 17 EV charging stations at Allegiant Stadium, a project funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. More than $3.5 billion in projects have been announced and are headed to Nevada because of the law, an amount that is sure to create jobs and more opportunities for other small businesses.

During a recent trip to Washington, D.C., I attended the White House Southwest Regional Business Briefing and left feeling encouraged about the administration’s commitment to small businesses, including the tax credits available for EV installations from the U.S. Department of Treasury. It’s clear the administration understands that if we want to enhance Main Street, we need to provide entrepreneurs with the tools and essential resources needed to succeed, like access to capital, and business advice and education.

I’m excited about the opportunities these investments bring to Las Vegas. The combination of infrastructure improvements, clean energy initiatives and support for small businesses creates a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
