Letter to the Editor:

Does Nevada’s governor get it?

In a recent guest essay in The New York Times, Gov. Joe Lombardo accused the Biden administration’s policies of failing Nevada when in reality it is Lombardo’s policies that have failed the state.

Lombardo campaigned extolling his law-and-order background, but FBI crimes against persons data found that Nevada is currently the “most dangerous state in the country.”

He campaigned to be the education governor but vetoed free breakfast and lunch programs for schoolkids while leading the charge to give $380 million of taxpayer money to the billionaire owner of a baseball franchise.

He writes letters to President Joe Biden complaining of government spending but travels with a dozen state employees, on the taxpayers’ dime, to Florida to ride the Brightline train across the state, never mentioning it was the Biden infrastructure bill that made these projects happen.

He complains about inflation when in fact inflation is falling with no recession. Moreover, contrary to his claims, the most recent data shows wage growth outpacing inflation, 4% to 3.3%.

But most concerning is his open support of a convicted felon who should be in the “big house” not the White House.

Maybe Lombardo is the Joe that just doesn’t get it.
