Letter to the Editor:

Choose a steady leader in 2024

On March 16, in two separate speeches, former President Donald Trump mistakenly told one crowd that President Joe Biden had once beaten former President Barack Obama and another crowd that if Biden beat Trump this year, there would be a “bloodbath.”

So what do these two statements, recent findings on the Jan. 6 insurrection and the recent testimony of special counsel Robert Hur say about the mental stability and acuity of Biden and Trump?

Hur stated in his final report that Biden has a poor memory but admitted that during his interview of Biden, he complimented the president with having a “photographic understanding and recall.”

The Secret Service officer who drove Trump back to the White House after he encouraged insurrectionists to “fight like hell” during the Jan. 6 insurrection confirmed that Trump was insistent in going to the Capitol, raised his voice while continuing to ask to go to the Capitol and kept asking why he couldn’t go.

What is more dangerous: a president suffering from mental stability and acuity problems who supports and/or incites violence and hatred, or steady President Biden, who chose to run because of Trump’s failure to condemn racism and xenophobia in the 2017 white nationalist gathering in Charlottesville, Va.?

Biden once said lousy presidents give hate oxygen. The choice is clear in selecting the man to hold the most powerful office in the world.
