Mike Gravel on Abortion

After a 5-4 Supreme Court vote in April 2007 to uphold the nation's ban on the so-called "partial-birth abortion," Gravel issued a statement declaring his opposition to "any ruling that places restrictions on reproductive freedom." He went on to say that any decision on abortion should remain between a woman and her doctor. "There is no room for interference from politicians and judges," he said. Gravel advocates comprehensive, age-appropriate sex education, including accurate information about contraception.
