2 women indicted in body-in-concrete slaying case

Two women have been indicted in the death of a 24-year-old adult entertainment model whose body was found encased in concrete in the desert outside Las Vegas.

Murder, kidnapping and conspiracy charges filed Friday against 40-year-old Casandra Garrett were the same as those filed Oct. 28 against 46-year-old Christopher Prestipino.

Prestipino has pleaded not guilty to killing Esmeralda Gonzalez. Trial is scheduled next year.

Garrett is expected to plead not guilty at arraignment Dec. 3. She also uses the last names Bascones and Winn.

Prosecutors allege that Prestipino and Garrett strangled Gonzalez and injected her with a swimming pool chemical before disposing of her body in a homemade concrete and wooden structure.

Prestipino’s girlfriend, 31-year-old Lisa Mort, was indicted on a felony aiding-a-felon charge. She’s due for arraignment Dec. 4.
