An apparent meetup to buy a computer led to the slaying of a man at an Airbnb property in the Desert Shores area of the northwest valley Thursday morning, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported in the 8400 block of Shady Shores Circle, near Rampart and Lake Mead boulevards, police said. The home was being occupied by a family that had rented it over the past several days, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

The victim, a man in his early 30s, had engaged in a sale through the OfferUp online service, Spencer said, noting that it wasn’t clear if he was the seller or buyer.

But three people showed up at the house and gunfire broke out at some point, Spencer said. The victim died at University Medical Center, and the people left in a black SUV.

The vehicle was later found and detectives were interviewing two people connected to it, Spencer told KLAS-TV. No arrests had been announced Thursday night.
