Henderson preps for curbside pickup at retail shops

Henderson officials outlined what curbside retail commerce will look like starting Friday after coronavirus restrictions were relaxed for nonessential establishments to conduct business.

Storefronts at businesses, which include liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries, will remain closed for the time being. In Henderson, purchases must be made before the customer’s arrival.

Deliveries must be picked up at parking stalls “when possible,” and vehicles are not allowed to block traffic. Outdoor dining will not be permitted.

Employees interacting with customers must wear face masks and use hand sanitizer between deliveries.

Clark County announced that its Department of Business License would dispatch staff “out in the community” beginning Friday and through the weekend to “help businesses open in compliance” with Gov. Steve Sisolak’s direction.

North Las Vegas announced it will be reaching out to businesses in its jurisdiction to inform them about the directive. It also extended licenses for liquor stores to deliver packaged alcohol and restaurants to sell spirits with food orders by 30 days.

Sisolak’s order, announced Wednesday and outlined Thursday, keeps businesses, such as bars, restaurants, salons and gyms shut down.

When the state enters its designated Phase 1 of recovery in two weeks or less, small and standalone businesses will be allowed to open under restrictions, Sisolak said. Restaurants and personal care establishments will also be considered for reopening.
