Post Malone accepts the top artist award at the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

New Year’s Eve is going to be very different this year in Las Vegas without many of the massive entertainment events that typically draw huge crowds to the Strip, but there’s a big virtual party planned at Park MGM. Post Malone, Steve Aoki, Jack Harlow and other artists are lined up for the Bud Light Seltzer Sessions New Year’s Eve 2021 event, hosted by Lilly Singh and broadcast live from different venues at Nomad Las Vegas and the Park MGM resort at budlight.com/nye starting at 7:30 p.m. Vegas time on December 31. There will not be live in-person audiences for the performances but it should bring a bit of Vegas flavor to New Year’s celebrations across the country.

Also recently announced for New Year’s Eve: Harrah’s headliners the Bronx Wanderers will perform a hybrid concert and livestream at the Space at 4 p.m. on December 31. Tickets (there will only be 50 of ‘em) are listed at $35 and the pay-per-view price is $30.

Piff the Magic Dragon returned to action this week at the Flamingo Showroom. The comedy-magic show originally reopened October 29 when audience capacity was set at a maximum of 250, moving from its normal home at the small Bugsy’s Cabaret room to the larger showroom. When the current capacity limit of 50 was mandated on November 22, Piff and his cast and crew shut things down, but the production relaunched Thursday and is currently scheduled for shows Thursday through Sunday.

What else is up and running this weekend? You can still catch some comedy at the L.A. Comedy Club at the STRAT, the Laugh Factory at the Tropicana, Delirious Comedy Club at Downtown Grand (with Pauly Shore headlining this weekend) and the “Four Funny F***ers” show Saturday night at Notoriety at Neonopolis downtown. At that same venue, the live-singing holiday drag spectacular “A Very Faaabulous Christmas” (starring Edie from “Zumanity”) continues Friday and Saturday. Back on the Strip, Tape Face and “X Country” (guest starring burlesque showgirl Sabina Kelley this weekend) continue at Harrah’s; “Extravaganza” soldiers on Bally’s; “MJ Live” pays tribute to the King of Pop at the STRAT; and Murray Sawchuck brings the laughs and the magic at the Trop. And just off the Strip, “The Rat Pack is Back” is still back at the Tuscany and “A Vegas Room Christmas” continues at the Vegas Room.

New female revue “BurlesQ” was scheduled to make its debut Thursday in the Athena Showroom at the Alexis Park Resort. The Roaring ’20s-themed music-and-dance burlesque show will feature JuJu Bea, La Luna, Maxine Gun Kelly, Mickey Blue Eyes, Stella Sterling and Tricky Tatania with host Sean E. Cooper (formerly of “Fantasy”) and special guest ventriloquist April Brucker and it’s staged and directed by Carrie Byers (formerly of “Folies Bergere”). The “BurlesQ” schedule continues with shows tonight, December 26, 27 and 31, and January 1 and 2. Tickets can be found at ticketkite.com and more information can be found by calling 702-483-8056.

Home for the Holidays” is a live musical tribute show streaming from Las Vegas at 5 p.m. on December 21 starring local couple Tierney Allen (as Lady Gaga, the same role she plays in “Legends in Concert” at Tropicana) and Travis Allen (as Elvis Presley) as well as Kelly Vohnn (as Dolly Parton) and Gary Anthony (as Frank Sinatra). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at stellartickets.com.

Local bluegrass band Out of the Desert is performing every Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. for the new Bluegrass Saturdays event at Gilley’s Saloon at Treasure Island. There’s no cover. There are food and drink specials. And reservations are required at OpenTable.
