Worker stuck in palm tree rescued by Las Vegas firefighters

Firefighters this morning rescued a man suspended about 50 feet from the ground in a palm tree, according to Clark County officials.

The man was trimming the tree shortly after 7 a.m. in the 2800 block of McLeod Drive, near Sahara and Eastern avenues, when the heavy leaves pinned him, officials said.

Clark County Fire Department officials said the man was conscious but having difficulty breathing. They used a fire truck ladder to rescue him, a process which including cutting away the fronds that pinned him.

The man refused further medical treatment, officials said.
