A 46-year-old Las Vegas motorist was killed in a crash Tuesday night in the south valley, according to Metro Police.
The wreck occurred shortly before 8 p.m. near Russell Road and Maryland Parkway.
The man was heading east on Russell in a 2005 Chrysler 300 when he veered off the road and struck a traffic signal, police said.
The car went back on the road, continued east and hit the back of another vehicle, causing its driver minor injuries, police said.
The crash victim died at the scene, police said.
This was the 73rd traffic fatality reported on Metro-patrolled roads this year.
