Police: 1 killed, 2 injured after car runs red light

A woman died and two other people were injured early today in a suspected DUI crash at Sahara Avenue and Rainbow Boulevard, according to Metro Police.

A car headed west on Sahara ran a red light about 1:20 a.m. and collided with an SUV headed north on Rainbow through a green light, police said. The SUV rolled several times, police said.

A passenger in the SUV, a 65-year-old Las Vegas woman, was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the SUV, a 64-year-old Las Vegas man, suffered serious injuries and was in intensive care at UMC, police said.

The driver of the car, a 43-year-old Las Vegas woman, was taken to UMC with moderate injuries, police said. She showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody, police said without releasing additional details.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
