Nevada Army National Guard member Katherine Deskins gives a COVID-19 vaccination to Jasmine Ghazinour, a Clark County Fire captain, at Cashman Field Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021. The vaccinations to public safety workers are part of a pilot program for a larger mass vaccination effort, officials said.

Nevada on Saturday reported 371 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases and 37 deaths, increasing the state's pandemic totals to 290,671 cases and 4,868 deaths.

The state has reported downward trends of known cases, hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 since mid-January.

The 371 additional cases reported Saturday were below the 14-day rolling daily average of 386 as of Saturday, while the additional deaths were more than twice the 14-day daily average of 14.

The number of infections is thought to be far higher than reported because many people have not been tested, and studies suggest people can be infected with the virus without feeling sick.
