The sound of a gunshot blast led people to find a man gravely wounded lying behind a vacant building in the north valley this afternoon, according to Metro Police.
The shooting was reported about 1:30 p.m. near Cheyenne Avenue and Jones Boulevard, Lt. Ray Spencer said.
The victim, only described as a Black man in his early 30s, died at University Medical Center, Spencer said.
As of this afternoon, no possible eyewitnesses have come forward, and a possible motive hadn’t been identified.
Homicide detectives were canvassing the area to try to find surveillance footage, Spencer said.
