Metro Police investigators and crime scene analysts confer near the scene of a homicide in a mobile home park by Nellis Boulevard and Cheyenee Avenue Saturday, May 22, 2021.

An ongoing dispute boiled over this morning when a man shot and killed his trailer park neighbor in northeast Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

Gunshots erupted about 6:15 a.m. in the 3200 block of North Nellis Boulevard, near Cheyenne Avenue, Lt. Ray Spencer said.

The victim and the alleged shooter have lived next to each other for several years and had “on and off” problems, Spencer said.

That ended when the alleged shooter exited his mobile home this morning and shot the victim outside, Spencer said.

The gunman fled in an unknown vehicle while Metro officers had to form a “downed citizen rescue team” to recover the fatally wounded victim, who was lying between two trailers, Spencer said.

The victim died at University Medical Center from multiple gunshot wounds, Spencer said.

Family members, including small children, were inside his home at the time of the shooting, Spencer said.

Additional information was not immediately available.
