Metro: Suspect arrested in fatal downtown shooting

Metro Police have made an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred near downtown Las Vegas earlier this week.

Though detectives were able to locate and arrest the suspect after an investigation of the shooting, the suspect has not been positively identified and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center as John Doe, police said in a news release. The suspect was booked for open murder.

Police said they received a report that a man had been shot Thursday at a parking lot in the 1400 block of Fremont Street. Arriving officers found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s identification has not yet been made public by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
