A man arrested Monday on a murder charge from a 2020 shooting near downtown Las Vegas is alleged to have dropped the victim off at a local hospital.

Avondre M. Kelly, 24, was charged with open murder and discharging a gun into an occupied structure or vehicle, according to booking logs. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 14, court records show.

Kelly was allegedly seen shooting into a SUV at about 2:50 p.m. on June 18, 2020, at a motel in the 600 block of East Bonanza Avenue, according to warrant. At approximately 3 p.m. the same day, a gunshot victim later identified as Dariane Lincoln was dropped off at Valley Hospital in a Kia Sportage allegedly driven by Kelly’s girlfriend, Ashley Fuller.

The couple did not identify themselves when dropping off Lincoln’s body at the hospital and left, police said.

The Kia bore a strong resemblance to the vehicle described by witnesses near the scene on Bonanza, according to the warrant. Homicide detectives in a records check learned the Kia was registered to Fuller.

Investigators later found the Kia abandoned in Los Angeles on July 29, 2020. A search of the vehicle included “a significant amount of blood evidence” in the backseat, police said.

Attempts were made to clean the blood in the backseat, including the use of bleach, odor control spray, multi-purpose cleaner and other substances, police said. A half-full gallon milk jug of gasoline was also found on the driver side floorboard.

That led investigators to believe Fuller and Kelly were going to attempt to set the car on fire or destroy DNA evidence, but ultimately did not, according to the warrant.

Kelly and Fuller were taken into custody by police in California on Aug. 10. Fuller faces a charge of harboring, concealing, or aiding a felony offender.
