A 63-year-old Clark County School District elementary school teacher was arrested Tuesday on two counts of lewdness with a child, according to school district police.
Alfredo Caracena remains at the Clark County Detention Center as of Wednesday, and his bail was set at $30,000 cash this morning, according to Las Vegas Justice Court records.
The arrest stems from an investigation that was initiated last week at the Walter Bracken STEAM Academy, an elementary school located at 1200 N 27th St. in Las Vegas, police said in a release. Caracena had been employed by the school district as a teacher since 2018, but has since parted ways, police said.
Police did not provide details surrounding Caracena’s arrest.
Caracena is due back in court Monday for a hearing where prosecutors are expected to file a criminal complaint, according to the court schedule.
