A man was arrested on a DUI count after a single-vehicle crash today in which a passenger was killed, according to Metro Police.
The wreck happened about 12:15 a.m. today on Nellis Boulevard near Meikle Lane, police said.
A pickup truck was speeding south on Nellis about 12:15 a.m. when it crossed into opposing lanes, ran onto a sidewalk and crashed into a block wall, police said.
A passenger, a 24-year-old Las Vegas woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver, Jesus Martinez-Ruiz, 21, of North Las Vegas, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of DUI, reckless driving, driving without a license and failure to maintain his lane or improper lane change, according to jail records.
The collision remains under investigation, police said.
