CCSD: Employee arrested on child abuse charge

A Clark County School District employee of more than 20 years has been arrested as the result of an investigation into an incident on a school bus, officials say.

Dorys Tovar, 58, was taken into custody by the Clark County School District Police Department last week, according to the district. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of child abuse or neglect.

Tovar has been employed with the district since 1998, and has worked as both a specialized programs teachers assistant and transportation aide. She has been on unpaid leave since the investigation began in November, the district said.
