1 dead after shooting at apartment complex near downtown Las Vegas

A man was killed near downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday after an apparent altercation at an apartment complex, police said.  

Officers were dispatched to investigate a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Bonanza Road about 10 p.m., police said in a release. Arriving officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, and medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.  

Homicide detectives believe the man was involved in an altercation with two women, police said. At some point, the victim pulled out a gun, and an unrelated man walked up and shot him, police said.  

The victim’s name was not released, and he will be identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office, police said. No further details were released.
