EUREKA — A 58-year-old homicide suspect who was the subject of a manhunt in a rural area along Interstate 80 in northern Nevada has been located and was no longer at large, a sheriff said Wednesday.

A brief social post by Eureka County Sheriff Jesse Watts did not provide details on Daniel Goodyear's status or circumstances of how and where he was located but said there was no longer a community risk.

“A press release will be coming out as soon as possible," Watts said.

Watt and his office had said previously that Goodyear was sought in a homicide that occurred Tuesday in Eureka County near Carlin in neighboring Elko County.

Watts previously did not release information on the homicide and he said during the manhunt that authorities didn't know whether Goodyear was driving a vehicle .

A wanted notice posted on social media by the Eureka County Sheriff's office said Goodyear was considered “armed and dangerous" and warned people not to contact him and to instead call 911 immediately.

Carlin is 212 miles (341 kilometers) miles east of Reno.
