Metro: Man shot to death by police after pointing gun at officers

A man was killed in an officer-involved shooting outside his residence Friday after aiming a firearm at Metro Police officers, authorities said.

Officers responded about 7:30 p.m. Friday to a call about a man with a gun in the 8400 block of West Shady Shores Circle. The suspect was located outside of his residence, armed with a firearm.

Officers attempted to “establish dialogue” with the suspect, who then retreated into his residence, Capt. Carlos Hank said in a video shared with media.

The suspect eventually exited his residence and aimed the weapon at officers, police said. One of the officers then fired at and struck the suspect.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation, police said.
