Las Vegas police: Pregnant woman hit by car dies at hospital

A pregnant Las Vegas woman who was hit by a car while crossing a street last week has died, according to Metro Police.

Nina Fauble, 22, was crossing Nellis Boulevard near Harmon Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk about 9:40 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a car that left the scene, police said.

Fauble was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said. Police did not say what happened to the unborn child or how far the woman was into her pregnancy.

A woman later arrived at the scene in the car that was involved and told police her boyfriend, 37-year-old Oscar Pena, had been driving it at the time of the incident, police said.

Pena was located and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on DUI- and hit-and-run-related counts, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said Wednesday.
