Police: Las Vegas woman, 67, hit by SUV while crossing street

A Las Vegas woman was critically injured today when an SUV hit her as she was crossing the street, according to Metro Police.

The 67-year-old woman was crossing Jones Boulevard in a marked crosswalk near Carl Avenue about 8:10 a.m. when the SUV failed to yield and hit her, police said.

She was transported to University Medical Center with critical injuries, police said.

The 47-year-old SUV driver left the scene but returned by the time officers arrived, police said. He did not show signs of impairment and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
