A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a car that failed to yield in northeast Las Vegas, according to Nevada State Police.
Police responded about 4:10 p.m. to the intersection of Las Vegas and Checkered Flag Lane by Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The motorcycle had been traveling southbound on Las Vegas when a passenger car, approaching from the opposite direction, made a left turn onto Checkered Flag and entered the motorcycle’s path of travel.
The motorcyclist was ejected when the front of his bike struck the right side of the passenger car, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are currently investigating the collision, and there is a “hard closure” in place at Las Vegas and Checkered Flag.
