The company responsible for the slot machines at Harry Reid International Airport recently surpassed $1 billion in all-time revenue.

Airport Slot Concession Inc., a Michael Gaughan company, operates over 1,400 slot machines at the airport, where it has had a contract to do business since 1986.

In those 36 years, the company has generated $1 billion in revenue.

The slot machines generate nearly $40 million in gross revenue each year, and many of those dollars stay at the airport, the company said.

Nonaviation revenue is “beneficial in that it helps to lessen our costs for air cariers,” Scott Kichline, the airport’s assistant director for business and commercial development, said in a statement.

Gaughan, son of Las Vegas casino owner and operator Jackie Gaughan, is the owner of the South Point.
