Las Vegas police: Bicyclist hit, killed by car; driver faces DUI count

A woman suspected of DUI hit and killed a man on a bicycle today when she ran a red light, overturning the car she was driving, according to Metro Police.

Jessica Saitta, 35, was headed east on Sahara Avenue approaching Commercial Center Drive about 4 a.m. as the bicyclist, traveling north on Commercial Center, entered the intersection, police said.

Saitta drove through the intersection on a red light and hit the bicyclist, police said.

Saitta then lost control of the car, which ran onto the center median and overturned, landing on its side, police said.

The bicyclist, whose name and age were not released, was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
