Three people have been hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday afternoon in West Las Vegas, according to Metro Police Capt. Raul Rodriguez.

Officers responded about 1:35 p.m. to a report of a neighbor dispute in the 900 block of Doolittle Avenue, Rodriguez said. The dispute escalated and there was an exchange of gunfire between those involved. Three adults were struck and transported to local hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries.

A nearby school was placed on hard lockdown as a precaution because of the shooting, and all children were safe and accounted for by the time of their release around 4 p.m.

At this time, everybody involved in the shooting is in custody and there is no outstanding threat to the community, Rodriguez said.
