Sometimes my head feels like it’s stuck on a NASCAR short track endlessly driving in circles. This condition is usually brought on when there are so many news events that I can’t easily decide which one will make the best cartoon.
Choosing the wrong subject can lead to an idea that stinks like a pig. And since I have no reason to keep a supply of lipstick handy…well, you’ve probably heard enough about pigs and lipstick recently.
This week I worked on ideas about Tony Stewart’s anger, Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s clash on the track with Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson’s rise as a threat to Chase leaders Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards. I ended up choosing a sketch about Tony Stewart as the cartoon for this week, but I also wanted to share with you this sketch of a thirsty Tony Stewart searching for refreshment.
