Metro police arrest four in Valentine’s Day shooting

Metro Police have arrested four suspects in a gun battle in northwest Las Vegas Valley today, and are still searching for more suspects.

While the police investigation continues, the department is not releasing the names or photographs of the suspects at this time, the department said in a released statement.

All four are charged with three counts of attempted murder, four counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, four counts of discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle and one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

At 11:46 a.m., three people were standing in front of a home in the northwest valley when two vehicles approached them. Five to eight people were inside the cars, police said. The vehicles stopped and those inside got out and started firing handguns at the three people, police said.

One victim fled to the 7900 block of Gilmore Street and was struck in the leg by gunfire, police said. An area resident who stepped outside of his home was also shot in the leg. Both victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Bullets also struck four occupied homes during the shooting, but no injuries were reported from the houses.

A suspect vehicle was stopped by offices near Rancho and Gowan roads. Officers recovered four handguns from that vehicle and arrested all four individuals inside the vehicle.

A second vehicle, a black Lincoln Navigator with chrome rims, is being sought by police. Other suspects are described as Hispanic adult men.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call the Metro Police Gang Crimes Bureau at 828-3309 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
