Police identify teen killed in rollover accident

A 16-year-old girl who died from her injuries after a rollover accident on U.S. 95 at Durango Road early Wednesday morning has been identified as Zoe N. Roanoke, the Clark County coroner's office said.

Roanoke was in the back seat of a Scion sedan returning from a trip to Mount Charleston when the car drifted off the roadway, veered back across the highway and rolled in the median at 5:37 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Kevin Honea said.

Roanoke was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car, Honea said. She died hours later at University Medical Center.

Another 17-year-old boy also in the backseat was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected as well, Honea said. An 18-year-old woman driving the car and a 17-year-old girl in the front passenger seat were both wearing seat belts.

All three are recovering at University Medical Center.
