The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Tuesday that the bull trout would remain a threatened species in Nevada and would also receive additional studies for extra protection under the Endangered Species Act.
While environmentalists praised the decision, it dissented with the agency's decision to continue tests and suggested that instead, steps should be taken to strengthen the trout's population.
