A study by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography found that there is a 50 percent chance Lake Mead will go dry by the year 2021 due to a rise in human demand and climate change.
The study also predicts that by 2017 there is a 50 percent chance the lake will drop too low to allow Hoover Dam to produce hydroelectric power.
