Gov. Jim Gibbons denied the claims that his wife, Dawn Gibbons, made in divorce papers that the governor is carrying on an affair with another woman. He also made it clear that he was not about to hash out his pending divorce with the public, no matter how public his position may be.
"And this is not something that I really feel that the public really ought to be involved in. This is really painful to go through, a process like this," Gibbons told the press during a news conference.
Gibbons also assured the public that despite the emotional hardships and subsequent bad publicity his wife's claims of an extra-marital affair could bring, it would not affect his ability to govern Nevada.
