Just get my name right

We'll take any publicity we can get at Face to Face. That's why we were thrilled when the program got mentioned in a letter to the Las Vegas City Council, requesting the withdrawal of an application for a convenience store and more, smack dab in the midst of a northwest Las Vegas neighborhood. Reading on, I realized the letter accused Face to Face of disseminating bad information. Horrors!

Since we pride ourselves on accuracy, imagine my relief when I got a call this morning from the author of that letter, attorney John Moran Jr.

Seems in their haste to get the missive hand-delivered to the mayor and council members by 5 p.m., Moran's office staff neglected the facts and chose instead to trash the program. Suffice to say I'm relieved it was them, not us, who got it wrong. But at least they got the name right.

Speaking of Moran and Associates... I phoned newly appointed Ethics Commissioner John Moran III after that city council meeting Wednesday to ask for an interview. I wanted to know how he plans to get around a state law prohibiting members of the commission from lobbying... since he was still lobbying and all. Young Mr. Moran was all over the map, but it turns out the guy is getting conflicting advice from the Ethics Commission and the man who named him to the post, Governor Jim Gibbons. Shocking We plan to give Mr. Moran a helping hand and get it all ironed out tomorrow with some experts on Face to Face. Thanks for watching!
